Good Friends

My good friend A and her husband J just got back from visiting our O. They generously took a package for us for Nephtalie. Unfortunately, the first day they visited our little sweetheart was not feeling well.

Scott and I wondered how Nephtalie would respond to a man. After all the O is run by females mostly. This is what A said in her email - "She seemed comfortable to be in J's arms. She was a little shy at first but gave in to be in J's arms as he sang to her, rocked her and she fell asleep. She seems to be very quiet and a little on the shy side. She is a true sweet heart and loves to look into your eyes as you hold her. She enjoys being held and is such a little angel."
She looks so tiny and comfortable being cuddled. Thanks J!
This is what A said about her later in the week - "On our 2nd trip to PAC2 we found the children eating their dinner and were pleasantly surprised to see that Nephtalie felt so much better. She was giggling and smiling as she played around while having her dinner. As I walked over to her with your gift she smiled and stood up on her chair and she giggled. I spoon fed her and she happily finished her food. We walked over to a quiet corner and put on her beautiful little sandals (which by the way, fit her perfectly) and gave her the photo album. A nanny who speaks a little English helped me go through the pictures as I described the them. She seemed interested in them, but became a little shy and withdrawn as the rest of the children surrounded us in a frenzy to see the photos."
Unfortunately, they lost the photos and videos of that second visit. This update is priceless. It's going in her scrapbook. Thank you A and J!!!!

My twins were afraid of my husband. Kaleb warmed up the second day but it took until the last day for Kayla. It hurt his feelings even though we know they don't see men much, especially not white men!

Don't you love the words about your little one as much as the photos? Even a sentence or two about them (when you have yet to meet them) is like gold.
I think she is so sweet :)
